What is Daily Product Idea?
Daily Product Idea is a service from Incyworks that identifies real-world problems and turns them into researched digital product opportunities for independent builders. Each opportunity describes the customer, problem, evidence, smallest useful product, possible business model, risks and first validation steps.
Who it is for
- Developers and independent builders who can build a product but want a better reason to choose one problem over another.
- People looking for a side project with a real customer behind it.
- Small teams exploring a new product line, and anyone following the experiment.
What each idea contains
- Who has the problem, and the problem in brief
- How they cope today, where the research found it
- A proposed product and the smallest useful version to test first
- Why the opportunity may exist now
- Possible ways to charge and routes to early customers
- The main risks and the questions to test first
- An opportunity score from 0 to 100 across six dimensions
- An evidence level, and the sources the assessment is based on
Every idea uses the same structure, so opportunities can be compared. Browse the ideas.
Where the research comes from
- Communities where customers, professionals, operators and business owners discuss their work, rather than startup forums asking for ideas.
- Other kinds of source that can corroborate a problem: product reviews and support complaints, public issue trackers, job and freelance postings, and search demand.
- Competitor and vendor pages, used to judge differentiation. They never count as evidence that the problem exists.
Repeated reports of the same problem are grouped into one clearly stated problem before any product is proposed. AI helps extract, group, research and draft; every researched idea is reviewed and approved by a person before it is published, and each idea page links to the sources it was built from.
What the opportunity score means
A number from 0 to 100, weighted from six dimensions: problem evidence (25%), customer clarity (15%), market potential (15%), differentiation (15%), buildability (15%), customer access (15%). Each dimension is scored from the recorded evidence with a written reason, and scored low where evidence is thin. A score of 80 or more reads as a strong opportunity that still requires testing; below 50, the idea needs a sharper angle or is not currently recommended.
What "evidence" means here
Evidence is something a source shows. Anything believed but not shown is recorded separately, as an assumption to test. Each researched idea carries an evidence level, counted from its sources rather than judged:
- Illustrative:
- An example showing the format. Not researched.
- Limited:
- Fewer sources than Indicative requires.
- Indicative:
- Two or more independent voices or sources describe the problem.
- Supported:
- Corroborated by two or more sites outside the original communities: reviews, job or search demand, or issue trackers.
- Direct:
- Observed direct evidence from customers, such as interviews, sign-ups, pre-orders or use.
What Daily Product Idea does not claim
- An idea is not validated unless it has direct evidence from customers, and none is described as validated without it.
- A score is a summary of the evidence at one point in time, not a prediction of commercial success.
- Claiming an idea gives access to its research and planning material. It does not transfer ownership of the general concept, and others may pursue similar ideas independently.
- Illustrative examples are labelled as such and are not researched opportunities.
- Nothing on the site is financial, legal or investment advice.
Who runs it
